Gene Mapping

Gene mapping determines the location of the gene as well as the distance between genes. The development of genetic markers and a mapping population can be utilized to construct a genetic map. The most recent work focuses on reconstructing recent population history while mapping rare mutations using haplotypes. The haplotype-based method is used to characterize rare variants and map disease-linked alleles.
